CODE ENFORCEMENT FAQ'S
If you receive a Notice of Violation, it means there is a violation of a city ordinance located on your property. A NOV (Notice of Violation) is a courtesy warning giving property owners a deadline to remedy the violation without receiving a Citation. Read the notice thoroughly. If you have questions about what the cited violations are or about the process associated with the notice, Contact the Code Enforcement Officer (502) 532-6050 to discuss them.
Code Enforcement can and will issue citations for non-operating vehicles left on private property. Per City Ordinance, a vehicle in non-operating condition is defined as a vehicle that is unable to move under its own power or a vehicle that has expired or no motor vehicle registration at all.
First, you must request a Code Enforcement Board hearing in writing within seven (7) days of the date a Citation is issued. You may do this by filling out an Appeal form located on the Code Enforcement Forms page or located at City Hall where the form will be returned. You will then be notified by regular and certified mail of your hearing date.
You can contact the City Hall's Treasurer at (502) 532-6050 or visit the office to obtain the balance or to make payment. Code Enforcement can provide you with the outstanding balance but cannot accept payment. All payments related to Citations, abatement costs, or liens should be made to the City of Campbellsburg and mailed or delivered to:
